Food Plant: Quercus petrea (Sessile Oak),Q.robur (Pendunculate Oak), Q.palustris (Pin Oak), Castanea sativa (Sweet Chestnut) Elsewhere: Q.aliena (Galcham Oak), Q.cerris (Turkey Oak), Q.dalechampii (Dalechamps Oak), Q.ithaburensis subsp. macrolepis (Mount Tabor Oak), Q.pubescens (Downy Oak) , Q. rubra (Red Oak)

Notes: A large, whitish, upper surface blotch. The photo above shows the characteristic early twisted gallery. The mine illustrated is still developing. Often pyriform. Widespread. As the mine ages it can appear as a large brown blotch
