Food Plant: Cirsium heterophyllum (Melancholy Thistle)
Mine: June-August
Notes: Several larvae mine the leaf , starting near the leaf tip. The mine usually expands down one side of the midrib, forming a subtriangular blotch. Larvae leave the mine to pupate and form red-brown, elongate-ovoid puparia. Discovered in the southern Highlands of Scotland (Bland, 1997).
