Notes: Forms an upper surface mine which is normally blotchy (as shown). The young mine is stellate. The initial mine is purple in colour - turning brown as it ages. There are two mines shown above. A local and uncommon miner.
Pupa: In the mine. The posterior spiracles are on short projections, each with around 20 bulbs
