In a building where I worked the ground floor in the elevator was marked as
"1" and the next floor on the elevator was marked "2". However, between the
first and second floor there was a floor which was only accessible via a
stairway and a freight elevator. I think that the freight elevator had it
marked as "M".

>> Quite often floor zero is marked G for Ground floor.
