A Virtual Side Event of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development

'Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) under the COVID-19 Pandemic'

A side event of High-Level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF) with subtitle "Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) under COVID-19" was held on July 7th, 2020 by remote online meeting via Cisco Webex. Mr. Kazuyoshi Akaba, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, representing Japanese government, made a speech by video message, in which any person involved in river basin management would work together and contribute to the SDGs realization, through Water-related DRR. Presenters in the conference emphasized the importance of showing specific relationship between each action of the SDGs and basin-wide comprehensive flood disaster prevention activities. IDI assisted the meeting with technical support.
