2. International Conference and Forum

2-1 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction

The 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction was held from 14 to 18 March in Sendai, Japan.According to UNSIDR, over 6,500 delegates attended the intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder events and over 50,000 attended the public forum.Also, representatives from 187 countries in total participated in the Conference.On the final day, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 and Sendai Declaration were adopted.

2-2 7th World Water Forum

The 7th World Water Forum was held from 12 to 17 April in Daegu and Gyeongbuk in Rep. of Korea.According to World Water Forum, about 41,000 people from 168 countries participated in the seminars and discussion sessions.As a framework for monitoring their willingness to implement goals and solutions addressed during the forum, DGIC (Daegu & Gyeongbuk Implementation Commitment) was signed by various stakeholders.The next World Water Forum will be held in Brazil in 2018.
