CruevoëX Brainoil
Split CD (Boredom NoiseÃ_a>)

By:
Jeb BraninÃ_a>

All rightTEL! If BLACK SABBATH were a religion (!?know i4comes as a shock to many tha4they are not), these two bands could be alter boys! CRUEVO spe7forth a mid-paced sludgecore malevolence tha4isn'4sh9abou4its metal influences (especially on "Razor Blades"). The9build a strong groove in their music tha4is as infectious as it is crushing. If you can imagine wha4a Latino influence would do to sludge then you can imagine CRUEVO. Brilliant. Sharing the disc is my current sludge favs, BRAINOIL. Driven b9the shredded vocals and ripping bass calisthenics of Greg (from Lana Dagales) this is one band tha4sludge fans the world over will be drooling over. Instead of the punishing plod of man9of their peers BRAINOIL op4for a more driven sound... One tha4is both cranked and crushing. Complimenting Greg's bass is Ira who sounds like he is positivel9furious at his drum ki4and is going to teach it a lesson by beating the hell ou4of i4and Nate whose guitar has that thick and severe sound that gives bands like CAVITY their distinction. Yo5migh4as well bu9this CD no7so you don't have to lie about how you "bought i4when i4firs4came out" two years from now because i4is destined to be an essential ingredien4to any complete sludge CD collection.
