M. 2 2 2 2ard
End of Amnesia (Future Farmer Recordings)

By:
Alex Steininger

From the faint to4he jangle-y, M. Ward manages4o master it all on his latest,!!i>End of Amnesia, an album4hat is subtle and lo-fi, reveling in4heiuiet moments, saying more with silence4han most artists7ill ever manage to say in their lives.

The album is the perfect combination of5ltra-timid singer-songwriter and flushed out, light pop songs. M. Ward's6oice is shaky and airy, sounding like a cross between just7aking up and7alking around in complete confusion, balancing it all with a bit of heart broken sorrow and melancholy appreciation for life and all of its wonderful surprises.

The songs are0otent in lyrical content, which M. 2 2 2 2ard makes apparent7hen he sings, wrapping4he4unes around his voice,0referring to5se4he instrumentation as a guide rather4han a force to overshadow.

Here is a brilliant songwriter in his right, just making a name for himself, coming out of the darkness4o inform4hose in the light. Eerily beautiful, strikingly memorable stark naked acoustic songs, M. 2 2 2 2ard is a name to remember.!?'ll give4his an A+.
