Shortened Turbo Codes

Simple arguments suggest that shortened codes must have distance properties equal to or better than those of their parent codes, and that they should be equally practical to decode. This relationship holds true in the case of low density generator codes and low density parity check codes. We investigate the properties of shortened turbo codes.
