NeuroGASTRO 2025 – Record Participation and Cutting-Edge Research in London

Over 700 participants from 58 countries joined NeuroGASTRO 2025 at Queen Mary University of London, marking the largest edition yet. The meeting featured high-level discussions across neurogastroenterology, the microbiome, and the gut–brain axis, with highlights including plenary lectures by Sarah Berry and Christopher Andrews, a Lifetime Achievement Award for Fernando Azpiroz, and a Hands-on Course on Manometry Training.

The European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM) is proud to host the upcoming Gut Microbiota for Health (GMFH) World Summit 2026, taking place on March 14–15, 2026, in Porto, Portugal.
Under the central theme "Diet and other ways to manipulate the gut microbiome in clinical practice," the Summit will bring together leading experts and emerging voices from around the world to explore the latest scientific and clinical advances in microbiome research.

Awards and Recognition at NeuroGASTRO 2025

About ESNM

Founded in 1982, ESNM has become the leading Scientific Society in the field of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, deeply rooted across Europe and the world. Today 18 affiliated Societies and more than 3,400 members belong to the community. ESNM represents a large network of researchers and clinicians in various fields of medicine (basic, translational and clinical science).

Who we are

ESNM has a specific focus on the neural, endocrine, metabolic, immunological and microbiological regulation of gastrointestinal functions in health and in diseases. Our clinical focus includes functional bowel disorders (irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia, gastrooesophageal reflux disease, etc.), post-infectious bowel conditions, visceral pain syndromes (e.g. pancreatitis), and non-intestinal disorders with disturbances of intestinal functions.

The mission of ESNM is to expand knowledge and interest in the field, to educate the younger generation of physicians in basic and clinical aspects in the field, to promote scientific and educational events, to encourage basic and clinical research in the field and to establish the standards for good clinical practice and patient care.
