Anniversary Celebration for Olivet Baptist Church, 1952
In 1952 Reverend Joseph Harrison Jackson and his wife celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and the 102nd anniversary of Olivet Baptist Church. According to church publications, under Dr. Jackson's pastorship, which lasted from 1941 to his death in 1990, church membership rose to exceed 20,000 parishioners before declining during the 1960s.
