This
Datamath Version 2 alias TI-2500 was manufactured in Spain and refurbished in
1975. Comparing the refurbished model with an original Datamath Version
2 manufactured in Spain revealed some unusual details:
It should read:
"Vollst舅dige Informationen sind im Handbuch
angegeben" instead
"vollst舅dige Informationen sind in der Notiz
eingetragen"

The printed circuit board (PCB) is the
standard 30367H layout used with all Datamath Version 2
calculators.
But it was refurbished...

The single-chip calculator circuit of the
refurbished Datamath with an unusual designation:
TMS0
719 instead
TMS0
119.
TMS0719.jpg (19128 Byte)
Why this odd designation? Texas Instruments expanded the TMS0100 family
of sngle-chip calculators two years after its introduction in September 1971 into three
different branches:
?
TMS0600: Increased ROM (384 Words x 11 Bits), Identical SAM (13 Digits Registers), external display drivers. Process shrink, higher functionality
? TMS0700: Identical ROM (320 Words x 11 Bits), Identical SAM (13 Digits Registers), external display drivers. Process shrink, identical functionality, cost reduction of IC
? TMS0800: Identical ROM (320 Words x 11 Bits), Reduced SAM (11 Digits Registers), integrated segment drivers. Process shrink, reduced functionality, higher integration
Please notice that the
members of the TMS0700 family were still marketed and marked as TMS0100 but both the die and the bottom of the chip package usually sport a TMS0700 marking.
Recently fellow collector Bo Kristoffersen discovered a
Datamath Version 2 (serial number 485344) sporting a 30367J
PCB layout and the TMS0119 ZA0072.
