Events

We hold a wide range of events throughout the academic year, ranging from lectures and seminars by leading computer scientists to outreach events for schoolchildren and the wider community.

Our Strachey Lectures are a series of termly lectures named after Christopher Strachey, the first Professor of Computation at the University. They began in 1995 and have included many distinguished speakers over the years. The Strachey Lectures are generously supported by OxFORD Asset Management.

Open Days

Open days are held at the Department of Computer Science to provide you with an opportunity to meet current staff and students, to hear a short talk about university-level Computer Science, and to get answers to any questions you have about applying to study.

Our programme of events for schools give young people the opportunity to find out more about what Computer Science really is.

Seminars and Events

We host a variety of seminars and lectures, many connected to our research themes. Members of the public interested in attending these lectures should contact enquiries@cs.ox.ac.uk.
