Homebase customers will be provided with further details of the transfer over to the new scheme as Homebase gets closer to launching Nectar in its stores in the summer.
Ajay Kavan, Homebase's marketing and strategy director, said: "We've done extensive research with all our customer segments and our customers have told us that they value Nectar points even more than Spend & Save rewards.
"The deal also gives Homebase unique opportunities within the DIY market including a significant direct marketing capability with access to 50% of UK households and an on-going source of detailed and actionable customer insight".
"We would like to reassure our Spend & Save customers that they can continue to earn and redeem their rewards at Homebase -- as we get closer to launching Nectar in our stores this summer, we will give them details of how they will be able to continue to earn rewards at Homebase."
Jan-Pieter Lips, managing director of Nectar, said: "We are delighted that Homebase will be joining the Nectar programme as our exclusive partner in DIY retailing.
"We regularly speak with our collectors and DIY is the most requested sector to add to Nectar."
