Its a quaternary ammonium compound, and the solution doesn't contain
alcohol, formaldehydes, phenol derivatives, mercury, chlorine or peroxide.
At least, thats what it says on the bottle!
Anyhow, I've used it with no (apparent) ill effects - its not irritant to
skin etc.
