You Don't Have To Be Mad But...
Ever since the invention of the jet engine, people have been working hard to prove that they are crazier than those who came before them by strapping these devices to all manner of vehicles.

On this page I've collected as many pictures as I can find of such strange, crazy or outrageous vehicles. In every case I have tried to get permission from the owner of the original images to republish them here but you spot a picture that's yours please contact me.

Normally powered by a small 2 cylinder engine with just 36 horsepower, this tiny Honda Z car from New Zealand has been retrofitted with JFS100 gas-turbine engine from which the power-turbine and gearbox has been removed and replaced with a thrust nozzle.

The owner says the thrust is low because the stator vanes have been left in place and this creates a huge amount of swirl in the exhaust gasses.

The Jet-powered MR2
The pictures that follow were found on eBay where the owner of this Toyota MR2 equipped with three home-built turbo-based gas turbine engines claims he was getting 190lbs of thrust and a speed of 80 mph plus.
