CSIC is a globally recognised research group in Civil Engineering at the University of Cambridge, it specialises in smart infrastructure and construction by adopting a data-centric, whole-life systems approach supported by a diverse team of multidisciplinary academics. Established in 2011 with support from Innovate UK and EPSRC, it now relies on industry backing. Funding sustains core activities like research translation and knowledge exchange. CSIC collaborates across disciplines and with industry to create tangible impacts. Its overarching aim is to deliver pragmatic solutions to real-world challenges.
Through the University of Cambridge, CSIC is an active member of the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) and is hosted in the UKCRIC-funded National Research Facility for Infrastructure Sensing (NRFIS).
