Olkiluoto waits with confidence for new operating licence for OL1 and OL2
At the
beginning of the year, TVO submitted to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and
Employment a new application for an operating licence for its Olkiluoto 1 and 2
plant units.
According
to TVO Project Manager Kristiina Rusanen, the licence submitted is of truly

ONKALO preparing for a full-scale final disposal test
While the
excavation of the final deposition tunnel continues, preparatory work is also
underway in Posiva’s ONKALO for a test that will play an important role when
applying for an operating licence for the final disposal.
During the coming
year a full-scale process test, known as a Full Scale In Situ System Test
(FISST) will demonstrate that the final disposal process is working according
to plan. The test will begin in March.
