Popular (Pop) Culture is simultaneously derided and (sometimes not-so-)secretly applauded. Whether films, TV shows, music, or books though, knowledge (and perhaps some appreciation and considered opinions) of pop culture seems to be expected of anyone who "keeps up", if not for idle conversation, perhaps for literary references.
Pop culture itself is so broad that it seems that those that do keep up with it spend an inordinate amount of time doing so. Instead of such a commitment, I'm iteratively collecting and curating subsets whenever I happen to be serendipitously exposed to bits of pop culture, represented in categories in an Amazon aStore to see if that provides any utility.
