Rising and Falling with the Sun
Rising and Falling with the Sun
For most of my adult life I have
been an early riser. The sun is our internal clock so why would we not honour
that even in these artificial days of television and other distractions. The
province of Saskatchewan never alters the clock with daylight saving time—it's
a unnecessary artefact that does little.
(Website is https://ptaff.ca/soleil/?lang=en_CA) a great website!!!
I see from this
graph that our maximum daylight occurs June 21 with 15:35 of daylight
starting at 5:29 and setting at 21:03. That gives us 15.5 hours of daylight and
8.5 hours of night, of rest. That should be appropriate to us.
We were always also taught that
an hour of sleep before midnight is worth two hours afterward. Yes it is an old
fable but there is probably many grains of truth in the saying.
With the availability for most of
us to record as much TV as we want, we should be able to follow this principle.
Why not give it a try?
(I do like a good nap too!)
