Blue Streak

About Blue Streak

Blue Streak is Cedar Point's oldest operating roller coaster and is one of only two wooden roller coasters in the park, and is often preferred over Mean Streak.
Opened in 1964, Blue Streak still offers a great ride, just as it did when it debuted. You travel up 78 feet in the air, and are dropped down 72 feet at around 40 miles per hour! The ride was manufactured by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company at a cost of 200,000ドル. Through out the ride, each camelback and bunny hop hill gives you a great deal of airtime, where you lift out of your seat and feel absolutely weightless.
Blue Streak was named after Sandusky High School's athletic teams: Sandusky Blue Streaks, and when it opened, it was unpainted.
Up until 1995, Blue Streak held a coveted ACE Coaster Classic title. In 1995, it's original bench seats were replaced with divided seats, separate lap bars, and headrests, which caused its ACE Coaster Classic Title to be revoked. Later, the metal lap bars were replaced with orange plastic ones, and retractable seats belts were also added.
As of the 2011 season, one train of Blue Steak has had a complete rehabilitation, and the other has only had a partial rehab. In the spring of 2012, Blue Streak was finally repainted.
Blue Streak is located near the front of the park behind Raptor and by the Game Day Grille and Calypso.
