Hi-Ho the Dairy-O a Hiking we will go!
Last Sunday my mom had the idea to go for a hike after church, so we all got together and enjoyed the wonderful outdoors and scenery. The weather and temperature were perfect and we found this awesome park that is right by the temple that has multiple hiking trails to go and explore on. I am so lucky to have family so close by that we are able to enjoy moments like this.
They are so stinking cute!
Can you believe Parker came willing on the hike and didn't complain once!
Morgan was eager to check out all the sights and smells.
We made it to the top ! (well this was actually the semi top but it was a good place to stop and take a rest before we started back) Parley and Oliver were checking out a guy riding a horse, did you know these trails are for horses too!
Parker is the sweat machine!
Henry loved the hike and showing off his new trick of waiving!

And Piper said "It was good"
I know, I know the title is a little sack religious but it truly expresses how I feel. After a full month of staining and drying and staining and drying and staining and drying and staining and drying I finally got this monster of a project completed and just before I was about to pull my own hair out. This baby took nothing short of a loong time and a lot of patience from me but I'm glad I went through with it anyways (like I really had a choice after I had torn the whole kitchen apart?)
I think the color adds a whole new charm to the house and really updates the look. Next stop new tile and this time I'm hiring some professionals, yay!

My Garden
I was so excited to start my vegetable garden this year and was anxiously counting down the days for it to cool off so I could plant the seeds. Here is the garden the day I plated it.
....and here it is about 3 weeks later!
I planted a variety of winter vegetables including tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, radishes, bell peppers, onion bulbs, string beans, carrots for Sparky, broccoli, and my favorite...snap peas.
Now some of you might think this is silly but I came upon an amazing epiphany when starting my garden. Did you know all you have to do is put a seed in some dirt and food comes out of it?!?! Like seriously, sead + dirt (sun/water) = food. Its fascinating and brings me a new perspective on how we as a society really do lose touch of some of these more basic concepts in life. Well I like basic, and like food, so this is the perfect hobbie/experiment for me to do. I'm crossing my fingers to some yummy vegetables in 2-3 months!

Family in Phoenix
I was looking through my phone and came across this group of pics that I wanted to share from Pat and Lindsays Trip. We had so much fun, starting off with my first ever trip to a Diamondbacks game.
We also got to have a mutli B-day party at Toreys house. 1 for Parker, 1 for Oliver and 1 for Jack who are all born in July.
Jack was showing us "how Biig" he was.

Turning 37!
Turning 3!
Turning 1!
All 3 of them got their very own birthday cake. Motorcycles for Oliver, a flag cake for Parker and special key lime cupcakes for Jack.
Torey made TONS of food.
Mom made her delicious and homemade chicken pot pie.
I made a bean salad, yummy!
Of course we had to do heavy heavy hangs.
Parley was so nice to buy Oliver a present using his very own hard earned money. It was so sweet to see him make such a sacrifice but he was so happy to give the present to Oliver.
Jack loved the tissue paper....and the presents too!
Happy Henry.
Happy Birthday to you!
Ah ah ah ah Stayin' Alive!
My pomegranate plant has survived this summer thus far and has about doubled in size. Keep growing little guy!

Pool Party
While Lindsay and Patrick were in town we all decided to get together at my Mom and Dads house to have a swimming pool party and it was the "firsts" for many people.
And last but not least (I don't have a photo of this one) Parley ventured out into the deep end of the pool (with a swimming tube to assist him) but that was the first time he actually went out, inhibitions set aside, and took on the pool like a bull by the horns. The tube fit him just perfect around his waist and just under his arms so he feels confident to swim around unassisted. I think he has a new found love of swimming.
For some reason I have a feeling this swimming pool is going to be pretty popular this summer.
I'm sure Jack has done this before on his home turf but it was the first time I got to see him actually kick/swim in the pool. He took to it effortlessly and even knew to kick when we asked him too. He loved kicking around in the water, it was super cute!
He is so adorable!
Oliver tried two new things. 1 was to jump from the side of the pool into someones arms and he also ventured out onto this cool floaty raft. Can you see the sense of pride on his face? He thought he was pretty cool stuff!
We can't forget Morgan!
Uncle Parker was there soaking in some of the fun.

The Valley of the Sun
So it got super hot this weekend and can I just say I love love love Phoenix! Yep, that's right I love it here! Betcha didn't expect that right? Well I wouldn't have it any other way. Yeah its hot out, but to be quite honest I kinda like feeling the sun on my back/having my own personal sauna feeling outside, and when its forecasted a week in advance then there is no surprises on what to expect. I would take this hot heat any day over freezing my butt off while shoveling mountains and mountains of wet cold snow out of a driveway or spending an extra 1/2 hour to an hour de-tombmifying my car out of a frozen miserable icebox. You don't have to shovel sunshine now do ya?
I took this picture after getting into my car around 1PM after it was sitting out in the sun most of the morning so its actually a slight exaggeration. It was closer to 116° - 117° outside.
I had to see what would happen with this old experiment. You would think the thing would just sizzle like it does when it hits a frying pan but nope it just kinda sat there.
After about 1 hour
After about 2 hours it had pretty much jelly-fied and was pretty gross all around. I figured some hungry coyote or bobcat would thank me the next morning when they found a nice dippy-egg for breakfast courtsey of the Davis Family.
The Circus
I was lucky enough to take a trip to the circus this weekend with my wonderful family, nephews sister and brother in law. I didn't know what to expect since I've never been to one before but they certainly are full of action at every turn. No wonder people use the word circus to describe things that are noisy, loud, crazy and out of control because that is exactly what it was!
Parley, Oliver and Aunt Beepers
Tyrons family getting ready for the show to start
Jack soaking up all the commotion.
Grandma and Hen Hen
Parley and Tanner
Aunt Lindsay and Jack Jack
The horses! When these guys came out onto the floor Parley instantly looked over at me to get my attention and eagerly pointed to them. Of course, Aunt Beepers must not miss the horses. I didn't realize that even my little nephews knew me as the horse lover, some things will never change.
That's 18 tigers in total, some white and some yellow. Which is pretty amazing to see such a wild and smart animal close up. They even knew German.....or whatever the trainer guy was speaking to them in.
Tight rope walkers.....and yep they made it across just fine.
The cannon shot across the entire floor.
Elephants too!
