Was Re: [ontolog-forum] Ontology extraction tool
Denise,
Well stated -- perhaps, if they haven't already done so, Kurt and
Bob can incorporate these functions into the framework they have been
developing

All,
When I read this question this morning, I must say I was unclear on what
was
intended by an "ontology extraction tool". I thought we
might get a wide range
of answers - as we have.
If you mean, are there tools that can identify and extract entities which
have
been associated with a predefined ontology -- that's one thing. If
you mean,
are there tools that can tell you what your ontology should be -- that's
another
task. And, if you want to discover how entities relate to one
another in a
particular context, that's yet another task. And, there are
other
interpretations of "ontology extraction".
It might help if we had a better idea of the context for the
question. It may
be that people do not disagree, they're just talking about different
things.
Best regards,
Denise
