Triangle Inequality
Let x and y be vectors. Then the triangle inequality is given by

Equivalently, for complex numbers z_1 and z_2,
| |z_1|-|z_2|<=|z_1+z_2|<=|z_1|+|z_2|. |

Geometrically, the right-hand part of the triangle inequality states that the sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the length of the remaining side. So in addition to the side lengths of a triangle needing to be positive (a>0, b>0, c>0), they must additionally satisfy a+b>c, b+c>a, a+c>b.
