This bug has been bugging me so long that I’ve reprogrammed myself to work around it – but I still hate it. Maybe it has been discussed before. If so, I missed it.
Click on any field in any QSO in the main log’s Browse window and DON’T MOVE THE MOUSE. You will notice there is now an entry marker in that field. (Why? You can’t enter data directly into the Browse window.) Then try to move the browse window content up or down using the mouse scroll wheel. You can’t. Now move the mouse away from that field with the entry marker in it, and the scroll wheel functionality is normal.
Basically, any time a Browse field containing an entry marker coincides with the position of the mouse pointer/cursor, movement of the Browse window content with the scroll wheel is impossible.
This bug has been observed over several versions of LOGic, several versions of Windows, and with many different mice and drivers. The bug APPEARS to be completely inside LOGic and not linked to the behavior of any external code, though some kind of interaction with various/most mouse drivers can’t be ruled out.
If anybody has a setup where this bug cannot be replicated, I’d like to know about it! But mostly I’d just like the bug to get fixed. :-)
Dennis?
