[LOGic] MOVING LOGIC TO ANOTHER PC

I have successfully done that several times. I installed from the CD,
activated, then updated to the same version as on the old computer. Then I
copied the logic folder from the new install to another folder as a backup,
then copied the Logic folder and all sub folders from the old installation
to the new computer overwriting everything. Then run a clean and it has
worked for me every time.
I made sure the version copied FROM is the same as the version TO.
Also, I have had no problems on Win7 x64..

Subject: [LOGic] MOVING LOGIC TO ANOTHER PC
I am about to upgrade the old hamshack PC to something with more horsepower,
running WIN7/64.
I succeeded in installing LOGIC8 onto the new PC from the last CD.
It seems to me I have read a "forklift upgrade" method, whereby, once the
basic program is installed, in the Registry, and running, that the user can
simply copy entire directories over a LAN to the new PC.
I know how to use the logbook "BACKUP/RESTORE" routines, but wish to go
beyond this, ie cloning the entire old LOGIC database, setups, etc., to the
new system. Monitor sizes will remain the same, as will callbooks, and other
frills.
Can someone please help me with the "forklift upgrade"? Any caveats on
things that must be manually tweaked? If this info resides in an archive
somewhere, that would be equally helpful.
Thanks and 73
Dan
