You will need a keying interface to use N1MM (or any other program) to run
CW from the keyboard.
I think there is a simple circuit in the manual. I use a "Y" cable and run
my regular CW keyer in parallel with the CW interface. This comes in handy
for the really tough ones.
Once you get past the setup it is really easy to use. Run some practice
QSO's (into a dummy load) and get the feel for the software, that will you
up and running. By the end of a 48 hour contest you will be an expert!!!
