[LOGic] 2 RIGS IN LOGIC

Hi Jack...
Thanks for your reply....
Are you using this Edgeport adaptor to run multiple rigs with LOGIC?
I take it the idea is once you get the 8 COM ports running via the USB, you
tell LOGIC that each rig has a different COM port? So now LOGIC is polling
each of the active rigs?
What happens if you use the SPOT LOG and try to set "the" rig to a spot
freq? Do all rigs move to the spot freq?
What happens to the Radio Inerface, or TRX-MGR, or other computer control of
radio?
I guess there must be other LOGIC functions which are effected by the
addition of more rigs...have not thought them all through! What concessions
or changes in operating habits did you have to go through?
Thanks and 73
Dan

I have the answer to your problem:
Eight serial ports through 1 USB port!
Edgeport/8 adaptor. W/DB-9 connectors. This is a professional plug & play
unit. All necessary software and drivers are downloaded automatically. Take
full advantage of your computer & equipment. Also included is an Edgeport
USB 4 port extender with cable & power supply.

Hi Robie...
So is this bottom line that I need a separate serial port for each radio?
Barring availability of multiple serial ports on the hamshack PC, do I have
an option to look for one of the multi-serial kludge devices and/or
USB-to-serial black boxes?
Seting up each rig in LOGIC is easy and obvious, altho the interface to the
outside world is a little more mysterious.
One rig is a Yaesu, one's and Kenwood.

Dan,
In a nut shell, you must set up each rig with its own port using the setup
menu. You will see a seperate "rig" display for each rig in Logic. You
can select the rig from which Logic will collect data on the Main log
form.
If you have multiple ICOM rigs I believe it is possible to use only one
port and simply specivy different addresses for each rig.

I just added another transceiver to the hamshack and now have two HF
stations on the air simultaneously. Can't find anything in the HELP index
for setting up two rigs with LOGIC.
What options do I have in order to connect both to LOGIC?
It'd be preferable to have both rigs simultaneously interfaced with
LOGIC, but I could live with fast switching between the two rigs (but
prefer not to have to swap cables and change setup menu each time).
Has this topic been sent to the archives?
Tnx es 73
