Are you talking about bugs or features? If something isn't working it should
be fixed.
I use telnet only, it works fine... The only real issue I have is Logic
gives too much info. I HATE the fact you can get 2 or more lines for a
spot... Wish it would consolidate spots. I much prefer the way DXLabs does
it... Much more concise. If for example I need a zone on 80 and I also need
the DXCC country Just the Zone spot should take precedence... After all, you
either need it or you don't... But how many spot sources do you need? They
generally display the same spots since they are all interconnected.
Logic is a general purpose logging program. It's getting pretty close to the
saturation point for features... Too many features and the program becomes
bloated, slow and clumsy to use. I already find Logic has one of the poorer
user interfaces... Way too much mouse clicking.
I actually wish Dennis would stop adding features and clean up the program
as it stands by perhaps streamlining the interface and some of the forms.
Fix the rough spots such as your cluster bugs. Did you ever try and figure
out the current UTC time on that info form... It's so cluttered it's hard to
find quickly!
Mel...

Subject: [LOGic] Spotting tools
There is something about looking around, but if you are new, getting
starting again, don't have WAS or DXCC spotting tools are
important! No offence to Mel, I admit that Logic has some good
spotting tools, but the tools fail, in getting the spots, by not
being able to download the Spots. In some cases one fails, sometimes
both fails, I get Connection Failed, on one or both, meaning both
DXSummit and DXScape, that is not a down Web site, it is internal to
Logic in the tool of Spotting. Don't get me wrong, I have use
DX4Windows and the program has change for little over the years I
have use Logic, 6,7,and now 8 before Logic I think Logic5. All of
them are or were good programs, but we buy the updates because of the
great additions to them, including, Membership and Work before! I
just think we need a dedicated spotting tools, that will feed into
Spot Log from outside of Logic, I am not trying to flame you, but
listen to this, I gave some very good ideas to Dennis, Logic 7 and 8
there hopefully in Logic9, I think they are great ideas of course
they are my ideas. Maybe I will lay out some of them in the future.
I all due respect of all of Logic users I said these things. Logic
is many things to many users!!!!!!!
