[LOGic] Take full advantage of Logic

My problem is kind of the opposite of that. What I really want to have are
several different pieces of software talking to my one radio, as required.
For example, I'd like my APRS program to talk to my TS-2000 when it needs
to -- which is maybe every five minutes for about one second -- but the way
things work right now, it is either connected to my radio 100% of the time,
or not at all. If it's connected, then LOGic isn't. Nor is anything else.
Ideally they should put Ethernet ports on radios. Ethernet has been around
forever, so I don't know why nobody has done this yet. Seems kinda obvious.
They do it with printers and all kinds of other multi-tasking peripherals.
But since that is a hypothetical condition contrary to fact...
Seems to me you could devise a specialized software driver that would
intercept calls on specified serial ports (maybe COM2:, COM3:, COM4:, etc.,
if you had to use COM1: for something disrelated), resolve any "collisions"
between simultaneous requests for those ports, and put them out one at a
time on a single RS-232 interface to the radio, giving the radio the
appropriate handshaking signals to make it think that the port was being
connected to and then released by each software entity in turn. Anybody ever
hear of that being done?
