Hi All,
And now, the rest of the story.
I thank you all for your many suggestions and helpful hints.
The suggestion that finally cured my Windows Messenger problem came from
Mac McDaniel, N0OB.
He suggested this URL: http://www.dougknox.com/, containing a bunch of
downloadable utilities, one was an uninstall utility for Windows
Messenger.
It worked like a charm and I have not had any Messenger pop-up
interruptions during the past 12 hours and its uninstall doesn't appear
to have affected any of my other programs so far.
