I received this information from Alex VE3NEA and thought that it was worth
passing along to users of DX Atlas with LOGic.
The model used to calculate the ionospheric maps includes predicted smoothed
SSN values. You can override this and enter your own SSN or SFI index in the
SSN box under the map. Currently the K index is not taken into account, this
may be added in the future versions.
Please note that DX Atlas is not a propagation prediction program. It does
not try to guess how radio waves will propagate in the ionosphere, it just
shows you the ionosphere as it is.
Since man-made noise and the take off angle of your antenna cannot change
the state of the ionosphere, these parameters are not included in the
calculations.
