DST does not effect UTC...... UTC stays the same regardless when DST =
begins or ends. DST begins the first Sunday in April and ends the last =
Sunday in October. Therefore if logic has a setting to where it can be =
set for UTC not to change when DST changes, that will work. Im still =
renewing myself with the new features of logic so I havent got that far =
to see what options are there for UTC changes verses DSTso Im only =
giving an opinion.

Why does LOGic have to directly depend on the clock for DST?
Since in the U.S. clocks are set ahead the "Second Sunday in April @ 2
am and " Back the Sunday in October @ 2 am " Why not pick this from the
Setup screen, since its different in other countries. Then when LOGic is
run and detects that there is a time change different fro what is in the
built in list, issue a warning message to check your clock for an =
update,
or let LOGic ask should it continue and adjust the time + or - as needed
before allowing the next logged entry can be entered.
The operator would only have to pick this once when LOGic is installed,
the way you set the time zone in Windows from a built in list
representing the day light rule for what ever area you live in.
According to my 'WT 5' clock program which has a built in DST manager
there are about 6 areas in the world that use Day light Saving time. =
Most
follow the American setup of Oct & April to change the time. Other place
like Europe uses " Last Sunday in March @ 2 am and last Sunday in Oct. 2
am". So all LOGic would have to know is were the it is in the world and
which " DST " rule to use.=20
Another simple way to set it up in LOGic would be to have another UTC =
off
box, in the setup screen One for how many + hours UTC and when to make
it active. A box is need to type in the date "Second Sunday April and
time 2:00 AM the same for the - hours UTC. Then when LOGic detects that =
a
time change has been reached issue a warning of the time change and ask
if it should continue to make the time adjustment before continue to log
in the contact.
You would only have to set this all once when you put in you Station
information.
