DX Atlas is an Electronic World Atlas for radio amateurs with interactive
ionospheric maps. The current version is 1.5. It can be downloaded at
http://www.dxatlas.com/
There is a demo version good for 30 days. Registration is reasonably priced
and displays your callsign.
The maps can display CQ or ITU Zones, latitude and longitude and grid
squares. Information can be found by searching prefixes, cities or islands.
There is and expanded island list that has 15,000 islands listed.
The ionospheric maps are interactive and display propagation information that
includes MUF, F2 critical frequency or height, D layer density, etc. This
information can be obtained and shown for the present date, past or future
dates and times.
The map interacts with your log or spot log to display information that
enhances the "INFO" window.
I have been using DX Atlas since it came out and find it most useful. Now
that it is part of the LOGic "Suite" of programs it is a useful enhancement.
The propagation information alone is worth the price. There is also a
Propagation 101 help file that can be downloaded.
