A lot of this seems Gnome desktop-specific, rather than OS.
Xubuntu 21.10 isn't on their page yet, which mirrors history.
a lot of their 'improvements' were XFCE and not of tremendous use, esp
to anyone customizing their desktop or using other apps.
Here's a semi-recent issue: VLC and Parole stopped playing video, but
mpv works. Parole dies, VLC plays audio, then when shut down, there's a
tiny piece of video. Don't think I did anything. Nothing interesting
starting via CLI. X*buntu, Nvidia, all current.
