Yeah, check dmesg or something, and try booting with a previous kernel.
What's the last message you get before the freeze?

Hi. I am running fedora core 5 x64. My machine suddenly froze
when I was playing with rhythmbox. I rebooted and found I could
not boot normally. It freezes after I select a kernel. I booted
into single user mode successfully but am unsure of how to
troubleshoot this issue from there. Any recommendation on how I
can go about figuring this out. I realize this is not much
information. I am frankly stumped.
