The Belkin card is a version 2 card which is not as "supported" as the 
older version. Version 2 uses an Amtel chip instead of a Prism chip. 
Same with the newer versions of the DWL-650 (not the + model).
I know a guy who has a DWL-650 working under RedHat.
My tests indicate that I will need a card with an external antenna 
connector, or which can be easily hacked to add a connector. The Belkin 
card is supposed to have a hidden mystery connector, but that's still a 
mystery to me.

It cheap enough to hack an external antenna conector into it.
