>From this output, it is clear that you must somehow pass the
"-dev=0,0,0" option to cdrecord. That way it will know which device to
burn to/read from. I have ide-scsi passed into my kernel, as well, and I
still have to do this, too. 
X-CD-Roast has a menu for selecting the burner (Setup->Device Scan)
where you can select the proper device to pass into the cdrecord calls
it makes. If this doesn't work, you can still use mkisofs and/or
cdrecord from the command-line to do the job. At the bottom of their man
pages are plenty of good examples to get you started. HTH.
