That's actually an interesting concept. What's preventing this from happening. If m$ bought out RedHat, then they could do a lot more damage than the money it would cost them. Sure the distribution could get picked up by somebody else, but that would cause a whole lot of trouble & chaos in between. They could set back Open Source by a massive amount.

Last I checked, MSFT was worth a few billion (that's with a 'B'
Mr. Bigglesworth) more than RHAT. And MSFT still has enough in the bank
to buy RHAT outright.
