Hi Arthur,
There is a utility called magicfilter that creates the printcap
functions that you need. It will set up a system that calls gs to print
postscript files and etc. I have found this utility to be a "blessing"
rather than trying to manually edit the printcap file manually. Most
distributions have this utility, or else you can get the source and run
make.
