Yes, I Know I Blogged About This Distro Earlier This Month (like around the 14th), but I'm thinking of using this Distro as my Virtualized Linux under Windows 7.

I'll Keep you Posted on How It Goes...

LBK Post 038 The Girl With The Kindle Tattoo

Another Winner for The
Amazon Kindle Reader

Stieg Larsson Becomes First Author

to Sell 1 Million KINDLE BOOKS on Amazon

The late Swedish journalist Stieg Larsson has beaten Stephenie Meyer and James Patterson to become the first author to sell more than one million ebooks on Amazon.

"Larsson's books have captivated millions of readers around the world and ignited a voracious interest in the lives of its main characters Lisbeth Salander and Michael Blomqvist," said Russ Grandinetti, vice president of Kindle content. "It's been exciting to have been a part of introducing so many people to these great books."

The novelist's three books –

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,
The Girl Who Played with Fire and
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

– currently top Amazon's Kindle bestseller list,
and are also in the top 10 bestselling
Kindle books of all time, according to the retailer.

LBK Post 037 World’s Fastest VP8 Decoder: ffvp8

Announcing the world’s fastest
VP8 decoder: ffvp8

Diary Of An x264 Developer

1080p ( 1920 x 1080 )

We tested on two 1080p clips: Parkjoy, a live-action 1080p clip, and the Sintel trailer, a CGI 1080p clip. Testing was done using “time ffmpeg -vcodec {libvpx or vp8} -i input -vsync 0 -an -f null -”. We all used the latest SVN FFmpeg at the time of this posting; the last revision optimizing the VP8 decoder was r24471.

LBK Post 035 Kernel Log: Coming in 2.6.35

Keeping Up with Kernel Development

2.6.35 (Part 3) - Network Support

"Since the fifth RC of Linux 2.6.35 early last week, the developers have only added minor corrections and improvements to the main development branch. It's likely that Torvalds will issue the sixth release candidate any day now, and the 2.6.35 kernel is likely to enter the final development stage.

"This edition of the "Coming in 2.6.35" mini series describes the advancements in network infrastructure and drivers. Part one described the changes in the graphics hardware area and part two dealt with storage aspects and file systems. Future articles in this series will discuss the USB, FireWire and V4L / DVB etc drivers as well as the architecture code and infrastructure."
