Alex Petrie wrote to the Royal Society attesting to the number of little animals in Leeuwenhoek's infusions

Alex Petrie, pastor of the English Congregation in Delft, wrote in English to Royal Society. Leeuwenhoek sent a Dutch translation, too. "... that in so small a quantity of water I should see such vast number of those little animals."
