IAHS has proudly and successfully coordinated two Scientific Decades, which, amongst other things, set the research agenda worldwide through collaborative forces. The third Scientific Decade 2023–2032 of IAHS launches a topic for collaborative efforts in hydrological sciences: HELPING, created through a participatory community process and by applying strategic planning. The third IAHS Scientific Decade is dedicated to local solutions under the global water crisis. The name HELPING, stands for Hydrology Engaging Local People IN one Global world. IAHS 2025, Roorkee, India
The XIIth IAHS Scientific Assembly will take place 5-10 October 2025 in Roorkee, India. Preparation is continuing at full speed. The Scientific Assembly will be jointly organised by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in coordination with the National Institute of Hydrology Roorkee, Irrigation Research Institute Roorkee and CBRI–Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) Roorkee, four leading institutions in the field of water resources in India. The Assembly will experiment with an innovative new format aiming to underline the importance of the discipline of Hydrology and to increase the visibility of the next generation of hydrologists. Hydrological Sciences Journal (HSJ)
Hydrological Sciences Journal (HSJ) is the official Journal of the IAHS and provides a forum for original papers and for the exchange of information and views on significant developments in hydrology worldwide. It is published by Taylor & Francis and available online and in print format. IAHS also publishes three book series: 1.Benchmark Papers in Hydrology series that collects together, by theme, the seminal scientific papers that provided the foundation for modern hydrology; 2.Red Books or Proceedings and Reports series and from volume 369 (2015) the new online open-access proceedings journal, Proceedings of the IAHS, PIAHS; 3.Blue Books or Special Publications series. The IAHS Digital Water Globe (DWG) is an innovative tool specially designed for, and by, IAHS members.
