This sample of phlogopite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Phlogopite is a silicate mineral with fluorine with the composition KMg₃(Si₃Al)O₁₀(F,OH)₂. The sample at left is about 12 cm across and is from Franklin, New Jersey. It is described as phlogopite with calcite.
