    This version of the Yap State Code is an unofficial version of the 1987 Code, as previously supplemented twice, and being currently updated by the Yap State Code Commission, with assistance by the LIS Project. This draft unofficial version is updated through Yap State Law (YSL) 5-23.
    The first official version of the code was done in 1987 (see, "Introduction (To Original 1987 Code)") and has been supplemented twice. This latest version of the code that is currently being updated through YSL 5-23 will be a new 2000 edition of the Yap State Code when completed (see, "Introduction (To 2000 edition, Yap State Code)").

    Users may utilize this unofficial version of the Yap State Code as a useful research tool, but should cite to the source laws set forth in the source following each Section of the Code, if citing to a provision that was amended or newly created after Yap State Law 3-88. YSL 3-88 was the last law codified by the Second Supplement to the official 1987 Yap State Code.

    Format editing was done by the LIS Project to improve the readability of the Code. Additional cross references and links have been added to this version of the Yap State Code by the LIS Project to assist in more efficient research.
