Searching for tags using a guest pass

michael.harvan says:

Hi - I have a photoset and each photo in the set has tags associated with it. I sent out a guest pass to the set. When viewing the set using the guest pass the tags are visible, but when I do a search for a tag none of the photos show up.

Does this not work, or do I have something set wrong with my guest pass or account settings?

My photoset is marked friends and family. I have tried this using guest passes generated the old way and the new way.

Thanks.

Check the "Flag Your Photo" link at the lower right corner of one of the images you cannot find. Does it say "Hide From Public Searches"?

I don't think tag searching works on Guest Passes.

Flickr Staff

That is correct. (Cut and past from a previous answer follows:) Browsing by tags on private photos is not extended to the person on a guest pass. The permissions on private content are based on contact (meaning: contact on Flickr) permission filters. Someone viewing on a guest pass in this instance would not have that permission.

For this part:
"My photoset is marked friends and family."

If someone on your contact list is *logged in to Flickr* who is marked as such, and is not viewing on a GP, they will be able to browse and search your tags on content available to them.
