"Covenant of Mayors" – a call for sustainability

Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, September12, 2013 – the European Comission in cooperation and with the support of the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbek Agency «Uzkommunlhizmat» and Hokimiat of Tashkent city will hold the First National Awareness Event aiming at presenting European Commission Initiative "Covenant of Mayors –East" in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Researchers have figured out a way to plug into the power generated by trees

Scientists have known for some time that plants can conduct electricity. In fact, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that plants can pack up to 200 millivolts of electrical power. A millivolt is one-thousandth of a volt.
