Torymidae Walker 1833

Numbers

Includes subfamilies: Chalcimerinae, Glyphomerinae, Monodontomerinae, Podagrioninae, Toryminae, and Microdontomerinae.
Torymidae s.l. (including Megastigmidae) (1) had ~230 spp. in 21 genera (Torymus being the largest one) in our area and ~1000 spp. in ~70 genera total(3)

Identification

Metallic green integument, sculptured thorax, long exerted ovipositor, forewing with long marginal wing veins and setae; stigmal cell very short. Laterally compressed abdomen and swollen metafemora are indicative of females.
