How to Use: Event Time Announcer

If you click on Show Result or World Clock on the set-up page, you will get the following results:

• At the top, the first box shows the local time for the event.
• The second box shows the corresponding local time in the city used as the home location; the city displayed here depends on the user's location or settings, so when your recipient opens the page, they will see their local time. To change your home location, click on Change Your Location.
• The table below shows corresponding local times around the world. The selection and order of cities can be altered by using the continent links, the Cities Shown drop-down, or the Sort by drop-down above the table.

To make changes to the event, click on Modify Event in the first box at the top; to start afresh, click on New Announcement.

If you click on Personal Clock on the set-up page, you will see the corresponding local times in the cities you selected in your Personal World Clock.

How to add or delete cities in the Personal World Clock

To make changes to the event, click on Modify Event.

To share the event times, simply share the URL (web address) of the page showing the results.

• To add the event to your calendar via an ICS file, click on Add to Calendar.
• To create a countdown to the event, click on Countdown to Event.

Since each event calculation is defined solely by the URL (web address), the same result will be displayed to anyone entering that precise address. This means an event can only be saved by saving the link to the results page, and it can only be deleted by deleting the link.

If you have shared the link and wish to retract it, please let your recipients know that the link is outdated. Then you can set up a new event and share the correct link.

It is possible to use UTC, as well as UTC offsets, such as UTC-5 or UTC+8, as a substitute for a location. However, we have disabled the option to enter actual time zone names, such as EST, EDT, or Eastern Time. In our experience, these are often used inconsistently, which tends to lead to confusion.

Although mistakes are always possible, it is most likely that a corresponding local time looks off because clocks change for Daylight Saving Time (DST). Not all countries use DST and the switch dates vary, so the time differences between locations change all the time. Please consider this before sending us your error report.
