Popular headset gains active noise cancellation

Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC gaming headset spatial audio Dolby Atmos head-tracking active noise cancellation

The Maxwell headet was Audeze ’s first foray into the gaming world, and thanks to its Dolby Atmos compatibility and head-tracking function, it also proved to be a popular choice among studio users experimenting with spatial audio. Early in 2026, the Maxwell 2 arrived, updating the design to incorporate the company’s SLAM technology and delivering improvements to both technical performance and comfort. Now, Audeze have announced the launch of the Maxwell 2 ANC, which equips the new version of the headset out with active noise cancellation.

Although it’s the first time such a technology has made it into one of the company’s products, they say the performance comfortably beats their competitors, and is capable of dropping the level of background noise experienced by the users by up to 35dB. They say the figures will vary based on fit, firmware, environment and noise sources, but their testing has delivered impressive results when compared to rival products.

The company have also paid attention to how the processing impacts the headset’s sound. They say that thanks to some careful engineering, the response of the headset differs very little with the ANC function switched on, providing users with a consistent, high-quality sound either with or without the noise cancelling engaged.

Pricing & Availability

The Maxwell 2 ANC for PlayStation/PC are available now, priced at 429ドル. The Xbox version is coming soon, and will cost 449ドル.
